Of course the later touring hatchbacks had plastic grilles up front and round lights in back - and there are the rare plastic headlight grilles for converting to 4 headlight systems (these could fit the early nose panels.)

Also - and a surefire way to determine if it's been changed: See if there's a small round "hoop" to the right of the radiator (for carb. car air intake.) The original tii nose would NOT have had this hoop.

Later nose panels get welded on early cars all the time - about 12 years ago - they were all that were available - so it was common practice. It IS reversable - so if the rest of the car is sweet - go for it. A VIN number would help determine the year also!
