Okay, I looked the blue ti over pretty closely before I cut it. I didn't see anything stamped there, but I'll check the parts I have and see if there is anything.

I would wonder about the tiis being made with "snorkel" clips, but like I said, I have never seen one or heard of this from any source that would know for sure. I have seen some very well-done clip replacements that could have fooled me if the owner hadn't told me that the front had been replaced.

dad and i remember that same thing: on the horizontal face between the hood hinges. it matched the orig VIN of the car. it was the "alpina" cobble-up, which was actually a '67, so that prcatice may have been discontinued later on. btw, dad seems to think that tii's were produced with regular 02 clips when they ran out of tii clips. why stop production when you don't need to!?
