Thats why I run a 5 speed. I live in the south so speeds are up on the hwy, 75 to 80 average speed of most traffic. I also track my car when I can which means 1.5 to 6 hrs. at 4100. With a 5 speed I turn about 3400 @ 80 which equals about 4 more miles per gallon. If you are doing auto cross and around town 4 speed is plenty.

We were planning on swapping both the 5 speed and the 390lsd into the 02, but the more i think about this the more i thing we dont need the 5 speed. SOOOOOOO, all you guys with the overdrive 5 speed, does it noticeably improve acceleration? or is it simply that, overdrive? seeme like we could save alot of valueable time and money just swapping in the lsd and leaving the 4 speed, since we'll only need it for the auto x and one drag.

opinions?

TIA!!
