First, if you install a roll cage, there is no need to alter the shell itself.
If you are not installing a rollcage, and if you had to change the rocker panels, I would reinforce them with the full cabrio inner rocker reinforcements, the one with a U shape. This will considerably strengthen the shell. If it was strong enough to hold a cabrio together, guess what it can do to your car.

Of course, the best is to have a rollcage, or at least a rollbar, installed. The main hoop needs to be gusseted to the B pillars. Thick plates at its base should be welded to the rockers.

And you definitely need a front stressbar...
