The early 72's had the 121 head that had a higher comp ratio, it could have had a cutting ring head gasket,I can not remember that far back on my 72. I now have the E12 ( w/lower comp ratio) head w/out the cutting ring gasket. My original 121 head suffered from a poor cooling episode and at the time I was talked into a new e12 head during the rebuild.
