if not, then No. you can advance the timing so that the car will ONLY take premium gas, but thats not the answer i think you were looking for. if your car doesnt ping, then premium gas is a waste of 02partsmoney...

I have a 1974 with the original engine and a weber carb,
I want to treat my car to the best, take the best care of it, would premium help at all?
