Not quite so. Tiis did come from the factory with the cutting ring gaskets. I've taken apart many unmolested tii motors (including my '72 with 80K original miles that started leaking coolant) and they all had the cutting ring gaskets. Modern head gaskets are good enough that you can use a standard gasket in a tii today.



The cutting ring head gasket was intended for the Turbo 2002. Any racing 2002 could benefit from this gasket, but even a Tii can run properly without one as they did not come with it from the factory.
