I like the broken door brake idea. This happened to me with an old 1976 530i. When you close the door the glass hits part of the door brake and breaks it.

Last Sunday was a beautiful, hot day in Colorado Springs. I went out and rolled down the windows in my 72 '02 and when I closed (okay slammed) the passenger door..GLASS EVERYWHERE!

Is this a regular occurrence? Anyone have any suggestions what may be the primary cause? What should I check after I replace it?

I purchased my daily driver about 3 months ago. This message board has been incredibly helpful..along with the archive. Thanks everyone!!
