Its also common for auto service places (dealerships and private) to require the technician be responsible for "returns". That means when a job is done incorrectly and a problem occurs after the customer takes the car, the tech who did the initial work fixes the problem on their own time, or doesn't get paid any additional flat-rate pay. That keeps guys from blasting through jobs and doing a lousy job just to make more money. Or its suppose to anyway.
