I have had a 82 320i motor in my 2002 since 85.

Differences include the oil pump, cam, distributor.

I have mine setup with my 32/36 weber. I like this setup alot. I use a electric fuel pump and have never had a problem. I am now at approximately 260k miles on the engine and the only indication of wear is leaky oil seals. I am considering using an e-21 head on my 1.8 L block. I estimate this to increase the 8.8:1 compression to around 9.3:1.

The best part about my setup I get 28MPG on the freeway..
