Mintex are a good, basic pad, as are PBR Deluxe (which I've used on other BMWs but not the 02). The only pad I would suggest you avoid is the EBC Green compound - I had them on my car and they felt great for the first few weeks, but they badly glazed my rotors at the first autox I ran them. I have a set of EBC Reds that I have not yet put on, but they have the same heating up issue that you are trying to avoid, so its sort of a moot point.

I have metal masters and I can't stand the warming up. Plus they are chewing up my rotors..

I want something that works well cold..
