As the owner of two 320's, both '83 models, I can say that the engines are very reliable, the fuel injection is simple and straitforward, and they last a long time (both cars have in excess of 200,000 miles on their engines with no major repairs only routine maintenance). I like the idea of using your existing carb. with an electric fuel pump for fuel delivery. I would suggest using an aftermarket fuel pump as the 320 units tend to blow apart quickly. Yes, you would need to have an oxygen sensor port added to your headers.
Good luck.
