Like Rob says, check that heater hose fitting and see if there's any leaks.

Otherwise, it would be best to pull the head. If the head is cracked, you will be able to see it very easily, usually between two cylinders and/or a valve. Unless the engine has been badly overheated, it will probably not be cracked.

I've seen quite a few '02 engines develop head gasket leaks from sitting for a long time. The head gasket starts to corrode, and eventually combustion pressure will cause it to leak.

Hope this helps,

vince

I recently put a motor in my parts car, so it would become a runner. I hooked up all the radiator hoses and when i put water in the radiator i noticed a small lead that appeared to be coming from between the head and the block. This occured when the car was still sitting and not running.. Does this mean that my head would be cracked and i need to put on another, or is there something else that i am not thinking off. the leak occurs on the sraight underneath the distributer between the block and the head.
Any suggestions are welcome.
thanks,
brad
