Is there any way to adjust away all the slop in my vent window knobs?? Have both door panels off and am up for sugestions!!!TIA

There is no adjustment in the regulator mechanism. It may be that your regulator is not engaged tightly with the window frame post at the top of the regulator. Also, the teeth in the regulator sometimes break off. In any event, you will need to get in there and have a close look at the regulator where it connects to the window frame.

I suggest that you observe what is happening when the slop occurs by moving the knob back and forth to see whether the slop is internal or external to the regulator. If internal, there is not a lot you can do... however, check the bottom of the regulator to make sure that the cap that holds the pinion in place hasn't popped off. That can make the pinion and rack not mesh tightly, thus causing excess slop.
