Here's a photo of the serial number on a 2002 close ratio 5-speed that I recently sold. They were built using a standard front and rear 4-speed casing and adding a center section about 79mm long. The serial number on mine was a three digit number only, and they weren't adjacent to each other like on yours. I've included a photo of the center section of the one I had showing the serial number (it's a little hard to see). According to Mike McCartney, there was probably only 2,00 - 3,000 of the 2002 CR trannys built.

Can you post a photo of the complete tranny? How long is the center casing? Is there a number stamped on the rear of the tranny?
