Please help with jammed ignition cylinder! (archive)

Hey 02er's. Sitch is this: key won't go in more than part way and won't turn (steering wheels turns freely). I've shot WD-40 into it and check the archives, but nothing is working so far. Can I pull the cylinder myself or is it a world of hurt, any suggestions welcome! (the freakin' cylinder is new, too.)
