I called for some quotes on valvetrain parts and because I didn't know how worn (thousandths of an inch) the bosses for the valve guides I was told "thats why we don't like to sell parts to people like you because you'll probably order the wrong stuff let me just talk to the mechanic" I proceded to hand the phone back to myself and then hang up.

Im trying to rebuild my 71 that has been sitting for a while. It has JE Forged pistons w/ totalseal rings, Rod&main bearings, full engine gasket set, Timing chain, tensioner, and guide rails, oil pump w/ chain. They are asking only $975.00 for the kit but i have no idea if i should spend that much money on it.Any input would be great.
