Coolant plumbing question. (archive)

I am in the process of removing my heater(doesnt work) and bypassing the intake manifold water jacket. Should I run a hose from the back of the head to the water pump and from the little one at the back of the block to the water temp sender housing? or other way around? Does it matter? Thanks.
