Were you trying to use your stock 2002 seat belt latches, which are mounted on the floor, in front of the rear seat? This could account for why they belts came up short for you.

Don't forget, that on a 320i, the seatbelt latches are on the seat, unlike a 2002. Probably accounts for like 16 inches different in belt length. If you have 320i seats with the latch connected to the side of the seat, like I do, you would have been "good-to-go" I wager.

I couldn't find anything in the archives, so i tried it myself. Oh yes, they bolt on nice, work slick (as they were 10 years newer than my '72's) blah blah blah, but they're too short. I guess the mount points for the 320 are a lot further to the front than the 2002 ones. And whatever those things you 'click' your belts into are half the length, plus they're not 'stiff' and just flop to the floor.

so survey says; don't bother with 320 front belts. And while we're on that subject, I also tried belts that i had lying around from a '85 Prelude.... they don't work either :)
