Folks,

Well my son and I were working on his 75 '02 this weekend, replaced all the hoses and gaskets (top end) and added the air pump so I could pass the CO smog check. After adding all the fluids and checking everything over ... fired up on the third try. Ah, the sweet sound of success, but wait! What is that rhythmic ticking just beyond the valve cover. Damn ... knew I should have done that while it was all pulled apart. Ah well, another excuse to pry the valve cover off. No big deal, except the eccentric nut for the #2 exhaust valve is stripped. Well, that certainly explains the earlier noise but the question remains, how to remove a stripped nut from the valve train? Picked up a nut splitter, but it's too big. Certainly don't want to get out the cold chisel and wail on it, nor pull it all apart again. Any thoughts/suggestions from the masses?

TIA

Geoff
