the one wire 100amp one i have bolts right on, but you have to make a "kinked" idler (lower) bracket. I did this with a section of early bumper bracket and the original straight bracket. My website is absolutely sucky, but its easy to navigate. link below with the pic of the alternator and bracket. Again look in the Electrical section.

Sounds like the bearing is bad. find a alternator shop to have it rebuilt(replace bearing and brushes) not as expensive as upgrading.
