Any tips or secrets for getting doorsill trim on?? (archive)

I'm about to lose my mind installing my new doorsill trim pieces!!!!! The first problem is that they don't seem to line up well with the snaps from front to back. Almost as if I'd need to bend the trim piece to get it to line up. The second problem is most of the snaps won't snap in there! Should I try to line these up starting by lining up the top edge or the bottom? Is one way easier than the other?

Thanks in advance. I don't want to mess these up.
