I've had the original mechanical fuel pump with my 32/36 for 15 years now (and about 75,000 miles...)

No problems. (fuel wise...)

But should I be using an electric fuel pump with the 32/26 Weber?

fine, it's your choice, electric pumps are nice upgrades but a new mechanical is still about $60. I think if you have sidedraughts it is more common to have an electric pump but with a single carburettor I've always used the Pierburg mechanical.
