Nice answer, now what was the question? Very simple, how many miles on the odometer are reasonable to get my new car from the factory to the dealer? Who cares about the definition of "new". When my NEW BMW arrives, I will refuse delivery if the mileage is greater than about 20 miles. I'm not sure who is stroking these big checks, but I'm sure my $500 deposit will be refunded without a hassle if I think the dealer has been thrashing the car as a demo. If you order a specific car (who cares what the contract says, you and the dealer both know that a specific car is identified, you have a born on date, VIN, etc. even if not in the original sales order), NOBODY should drive that car after arrival at the dealer axcept to prep for delivery. End of story.
