: Convetional wisdom is that BMW has missed it's opportunity here. 1st it was mini vans, 2nd SUVs and the next will be station wagons. I guess what goes around comes around. I remember driving around in a wagon as a kid and it was fine. The fortunate part is that BMW makes some great wagons in Europe. If they would only import them.
the E39 528iT and the 540iT are now in showrooms...the E46 is suppose to come over in the touring package also
They make a great M5 wagon.
that is the car i would love to see and i think we will...the E34 M5T is a VERY cult car in europe and very hard to come by on the used market from what i hear
There is even an E36 M wagon that never made it here as well.
never heard of the E36 M3T, but i may be wrong...latest rumor has it that the E46 M3 sedan will not be made but instead will be a touring version (we will have to wait and see)
The only thing we saw was the 5 series wagon with a weak engine.
weak engine? huh? well i guess compared to the M5 engine, but the US got the 530iT and the 540iT- that not good enough for you?
There are hints that BMW recognizes this trend and may bring some of these wagons to the US. They got on the SUV kick to keep people with growing families from leaving the product line (even though they own Range Rover).
i think BMW is seeing that Audi and Volvo are selling wagons here recently and BMW makes wonderful touring cars, so i guess that we will see more and more (only if the sell)...also since we saw the reintroduction of the 5er touring, i would expect to see the reintroduction of the iX (and probably in a touring version too)
