Radio Shack re-lables (rebadges) and sells other peoples products. They don't make anything themselves. If you study the Radio Shack item, you should be able to tell who the "real" manufacturer is (location of switches, front panel style etc.). Otherwise, the Passport SOLO (great unit, I have one) if you want cordless or the Valentine 1 (I had one in an older car) if you simply want the best performance. The cordless feature of the SOLO is quite nice.

: Are Radio Shack radar detectors any good?
: Anyone have any experiences with them?
: I have a friend that works there, said he
: could gimme one for a discount, but is it
: worth it?
: Thanks
