On a side note, our Passat has the "average speed"
function, which always depresses me on long trips.
It seems that no matter how hard we try to maintain
a constant 70-75 MPH on I5 from SF down to LA, our
average speed, at the end of the trip, comes out
to 40 MPH.
Now, I know this has a lot to do with those McDonalds stops and the baby feedings/diaper changes -- but it's depressing to be reminded of
that fact by the OBC through the whole trip.
Alright - I'll stop rambling now, and go get
: My 1998 323is OBC has the following (from memory):
: Two MPG functions
: Average speed
: Range to empty
: Estimated arrival time
: Max Speed warning
: Outside Temp
: Anti-theft code
: Retail price $500
: : Background: I currently have an E30 318is - no trip
: : computer.
: : I've read in several reviews where the reporter really missed the old computer on the E36. Question: what is
: : missing from the E46 trip computer that the E36 had?
: : The E46 has, I believe, average MPG (instantaneous MPG
: : is a gauge on the dash), distance from start of trip,
: : remaining miles till the tank is empty, and something else
: : I'm not remembering. (I'm sure one of you here is about
: : to enlighten me, though :-)
