1) Don't know any tint shops in the bay area...but you can't tint the frint side windows in CA anyway...why tint the car?
2) 'metallic' film DOES reduce the effectiveness of anykind of radio/light wave transmission/reception. There are however 'titanium' films that have a 'smoke' appearance that I believe will not be a hinderance to radar detectors.
3) 35% is the standard regulation for front side windows, 20% (darker) is used for rear windshield and rear windows.

: Hi Folks,

: Three questions concerning window tint:
: 1) Any good recommendations in the Bay Area?
: 2) Do you recommend the *metallic* film? I've heard it can degrade the effectiveness of a radar locator (according to Valentine 1 literature).
: 3) I'd like to hear what grade/% "darkness" (for lack of a better word) others have used on the front and rear windows?

: Thanks in advance for the inputs.
: Cheers,
: Tony R.
