Well, I doubt it - my dealer seemed positive that
my car would be built this week or next.

Also, I'm pretty sure that it works this way: each dealer gets several "build slots". They can fill them any way the want until a week or two before the actual build date of the car, at which point it's commited to metal and there is no turing back. So - when you ordered, your dealer may had
a slot open closer in than mine did.

I say this because one of the dealers I spoke to (who would not discount a 323i AT ALL, by the way) said that he had one build slot coming up really fast and that if I paid full list he'd give me that slot - my car would be on the boat the last week of October (This was around the last week of September). I declined.

Can anyone confirm if the above is indeed the way the process indeed works?

: My dealer just informed me that my E46 is on the boat and on it's way over!
: Yeehaa!
: From what they can tell I should be getting delivery about the 1st week of December. This is about 2 weeks AHEAD of what they have been telling me.
: Jeff, you may want to double-check and see if yours is on the same boat...

: 328i, Titanium/Grey Leather, Premium 2, HK, CD Changer, Xenon
