The "modifier"-coupling and the M3 sequential coupling are 2 diff. things.
The M3 coupling works like a manual transmission with hydraulic coupling and gearchanging. The automatic in the E46 is a "normal" Automatik. the AGS is doing:
- Learning driverprofiles
- learning mountain and valley driving
- hotdriving control
Drivingmode and Sportmode is known.
The manual switching from 1-5 is very less needed.
It's good in serpentines. u select e.g. the 2nd gear. a normal transmission is switch permanent up-down-up-down......and mit manual mode it's really better.

okay, cu
