: : The MAS wheels at (under winter tires section) are the wheels I am referring to. No others. They are in fact $724.00 for a set of 4 with Yokos mnt 7 bal. They are the ones's that more than a few eng'rs are comparing to originals.Tthey are in-fact made by the same process, material, same weight, dimensions (offset included) and same warranty. BMW roundels too. None of us can tell the difference using magnifying glasses and eye loops! The only diff is the replicas cost $110.00 ea when bought with tires and the BMW originals cost $393.00 ea over the parts counter.

: I'm so sorry. I did think you were talking about the M3 look alikes, not the 16" double spokes. But EVERYTHING in my post is 100% true. Read it. The M3 look alikes are not the same, and I have a sneaking suspicion about the MAS wheels. I'm happy for you and your MIT ME buddies inability to verify any differences, so go save yourself some money. Just don't give the impression, as I think you did, that all of those knock offs are equal in quality , size or dimension. When I last talked to the folks at BMW NA, they said that the OEM manufacturers could make repllicas, but their agreements stipulate different sizes and offsets. I would check very carefully on this point, b/c alot of wheel salespeople won't disclose this. Why do you defend DTD so much if you have no affiliation with them? Inquiring minds want to know....

I'm not defending DTD, I'm defending these (2 or 3 model) wheels. We've spent some time with the comparison and I take offense to someone telling me what I found when we did the comparison. How can you say that when you were not there to measure what we did. That's all. BTW as I said dimensions are the same (ie width $ offset). We just find this very interesting since he (my friend) spent $1,600.00+ on a set for his wife's car last year. Also I should mention, we both club race cars and we are only using these "replicas" for our winter wheels. I can't say I would trust them on the track :-)
