: First, I believe there are really two people named Doug Thom. Neither is a fake. One happens to like BMWs and the other likes the A4 better. I personally think the one who likes A4s has every right to respond to someone else who said they didn't like the A4. Each is entitled to their own opinion, and I won't delete either.

: In general, if a post provokes anger in you or you think it is silly, the best thing to do is to ignore it. If you disagree with it, either ignore it, or post real evidence to refute anything it says. Otherwise, let's all keep things on a friendly level.

: As for which car is better...remember that without the various car makers there wouldn't be competition, and it is the competition between them that drives them all to build new and better toys for us.

Alan, you have it right. There are two Doug Thom's (someone confirmed it to me earlier). And yes we both ended up thinking the other was an impersonator and thats when things heated up. I wrote the article about my experience with my Audi A4 because so many people who are considering the BMW E46/E36 are also looking at the Audi A4. I wanted to reflect to the visitors of the E46 forum that having been a previous BMW owner (93 318iS) and having bought an Audi A4 1.8T I was not satisfied with the Audi compared to my previous BMW (more than any other reason is because the Audi is FWD). Thanks for your support and hail to BMW.
