Two questions:

1) how did the service department handle it when you took the car in: did the argue that you didn't need to bring it in for another 13k miles?

2) Did they reset the service interval lights?

: I had the factory oil changed (first change) at 2000 miles. It still looked clean (clear) on the dipstick though. I had them put in BMW 5W 40 synthetic. I'll be changing it every 3000 miles or so now.

: : The statement that the car "does not" to be broken into is "insane" to me. These are delicate cars and thus even more the reason, to baby them until it is time to take them out of the crib and in the ballpark!

: : I also want to make sure I don't "abuse" my engine before it is time. The information of under how many RPM's, max speed in break-in period, oil change frequency, and other hints would be helpful for Jeff and I.

: : Thanks in advance.
