Hope you don't plan on keeping the car past 100k or so. 5k should be the max on dino oil. Doing them every 3k is an excellent selling point, keep receipts. I'm anal, I use Mobil 1 synthetic every 4k or 4 monthes. For the poster of the original message, follow some orthodox break-in procedures, change the oil at 500 and 2000 miles and then have at it.
