My 98 323is has the same problem. It goes away
only if the seats are occupied or folded down.
So guess what they are folded down most of the
time. Makes for a slightly noisier ride with
the back open.

Damned cars are too quiet these days. Any little
noise drives you nuts.

: My 96 328 sports package has a creaking noise that comes from the top of the rear folding seats and is driving me nuts! It seems to be coming from inside the top of the seat where the leather and the plastic meet. I have tried putting some armorall but it doesn't get rid of it. The creeks happen when the car's body is under some kind of stress, like while accelerating from a standstill or going over an incline.
: I know that my new M3 (with rear folding seats) does not have this noise. Should I take my 328 to the dealership and demand the seats to be replaced?

: PS: I know, if I turn the stereo really loud it goes away, but sometimes I do have to listen to my girlfriend when she talks... ;-)
