I have to disagree with the "plug people" Over the past 13 years I have had the pleasure of having 6 flats - all nails or screws. The first three times I tried plugs first. They always leaked because the sharp steel belt ends cut the plug material. Eventually I had them all patched from the inside with no problems. However I do know that the one store that patched my last tire put a plug in first, trimmed it on the inside and then patched it.
