: : b) I don't know if I'll even like the looks (like the rear end people keep telling me makes the sedan look like a Honda). From spy shots, the car looks less aggressive looking.
: You can't really go by spy shots. Let's just say that I heard from a very reliable source that the new M3 will be one mean looking car. Sightings from a certain fast paced autobahn stretch;-)
I'll believe it when I see it. The back end needs help though, unless you consider a Honda agressive looking. ;)
: : c) I may not fit comfortably in the E46 M3 (I'm 6'7", it's a big deal to me...no pun intended).
: Why not get one with no sunroof? If you have long torso, that's really the only way to go in the 3 series. I'm only 6'1" (but with long torso) and my hair sometimes get stuck to the headliner near the sunroof.
Because according to the dealer and the BMW website, there is no different in the coupe with and without the sunroof. The 318ti there is a difference though. My friends are amazed at how little room the sunroof takes up in my M3. A moonroof would probably take up more though. Besides, headroom isn't the main problem, it's kneeroom mainly and legroom secondly. The 5-series and 7-series are both worse in those two categories! I'd feel silly with a $45k car without a sunroof anyway. :)
: : Reasons to wait and get an E46 M3:
: : b) more legroom in the E46 sedan, don't know about the coupe since they're not out.
: There will be no E46 M3/4 because of poor sales. And before you all start telling me that BMWNA sold a boat load of E36 M3/4, remember that BMWAG doesn't really think of our M3 as real M's. They just plain didn't sell enough of them in Europe and the rest of the world.
Umm I never said there would be a M3/4. I realize they didn't have great sales and weren't planning on being produced again, even though half the dozen M3s at work are M3/4s. :)
: : c) More power! Bigger wheels
: 340hp and still limited to 155. Imagine when JimC gets his hands on the DME of this thing.
340hp is pure speculation at this point. Still 155? As far as I know it's been 137 for a while here in the U.S. :) If you're in Europe that's a different story though.
: : e) possibility they may not have my Estoril Blue for the new model frightened me. (a stranger just came up and complimented me on the color of my car the other day, not something I'm used to but it was cool).
: You can order ANY bimmer in ANY color you damn well pleased. If the dealer tells you otherwise, he's either lazy or he's stupid. My bud has a yellow real M3 in Germany with (gag) yellow interior and carbon fiber trim straight from the factory.
Yes but if it's a standard color for the M3 then it doesn't cost $2000 extra just for a color you want!
