I also brought my 328i from Open Road BMW and they are very great with their service. I live close by, so I do go there for the service, but I don't follow the service indicator lights. They won't go to service needed until something like 12,000 miles or so. I still change my oil every 3,000m and go to the dealer for the schedualed service. You can also by a reset tool from BMP Design for something like $55.00. But if you plan on keeping your car, I suggest that you do not follow the service indicator.
