: : I know what you're thinking. How could anyone make such a comparison?
: : Well after test driving the new 328i, I was hooked and decided to put together the options I wanted for purchase. To me the extra HP on the 328i wearing 17" sneakers and a premium package was the only way to go. When I tallied up all the options, the car's price tag tipped a whopping $41,500.
: : Now all of a sudden, I'm priced within hundreds of dollars of a Lexus GS300. Thinking that such a car would prove unsatisfactory compared to the 3-series, I decided to test drive the car anyway since I'm priced in the ballpark.
: : After the test drive I can say the Lexus is no "drivers car" like the 3-series.
: : Now here is my dilemma: To my surprise that Lexus handled and performed pretty damn well, so good in fact, that I'm starting to have second thoughts on the 328i. The GS is a distictive design with greater stature and road presence than the 3-series. In addition, the Nakamichi stereo is hands-down the best OEM sound I've heard yet.
: : So the bottom line is: Do I buy a top rung 3-series or an entry level performance sedan?

: : Thanks,
: : Ben

one thing is for sure... lexus is much more reliable than BMW. You are almost certain that you won't have any unscheduled maintances with lexus.

ps. it's ultimate driving experience vs. the unparelle reliablity of Toyota.. up to you.
