: Hello 323 Owners,

: I'm nearing to be in the market for my first new car and would like to find the best value out there and was wondering if any of you test drove any Passats before deciding to by your BMW? And how comparably fun each car is to drive? and any other considerations or opinions would be appreciated? Thank you.

: P.S. I am also concerned about getting to the ski slopes in a rwd car?

I've driven the passat and it is a very nice car. There is no doubt that the bimmer out handles it but it out handles just about every front drive car. To me the Passat has the advantage of more room and front drive for better snow traction. The Passat crash tested well too and seems to be a quality piece. I liked the ride it gave and the seats are very comfortable. Being practicle I'd go with a 5 speed Passat; for all out fun and handling you can't beat the BMW. Alan in Md.
