I believe the part itself has a 1-year warranty. So, the question is...what is your dealer going to charge you for it? And what is the "extended warranty" worth on it? My opinion is that if something is going to break, it is probably going to do it in the first year. And, if the dealer charges even $100 more than you can get it for on the net, it probably isn't worth getting through the dealer, as repairing it shouldn't be that bad.
