: : : : I just ordered a 323i w/sport package and i realy cant wait to get it! Going through different official and unoficcial figures for 0-60 I still can't figure it out for sure. Maybe somebody raced them against each other or knows for sure? And another thing: since sport package loweres the car a bit and has better tires and stiffer suspension, will that make it go faster or is it just cosmetics?
: : : : P.S. Anybody knows about perfomance chips for 2.5 liter E46 or other relatively cheap ways to bring hp up?

: : : I don't know which is faster between 328i auto and 323i 5-speed. I'd wager that in the city, the 323i 5-speed would be faster and on the highway above 80, the 328i auto will begin to pull ahead..

: : : About the sport package.. the slightly wider tires should improve your launch a bit. But on a RWD car (all BMW's except a few "X" models that were AWD), the stiffer suspension actually hurts the launch. RWD drag racers use the principle of weight transfer to their advantage, making the rear suspension really soft so all the weight goes to the back in a launch, putting the weight over the driving tires...
