Damn, I want the new Coupe coming out in April, but the price difference of the 328 over the 323, given the marginal performance difference, is totally unjustified. The 323 is exceptional value, and yet a 323 isn't what I want.

The 3.0L engine would really hit the spot (my un-educated guess would be around 210bhp, 220ft-lb).

Luckily I still have my almost-4-year-old 1995 325is, which is still a very good car. But it's about to run out of warranty, and waiting another 18 months will suck... It's also automatic, and I've been waiting to make the switch to stick shift.

As a sidenote, I'd imagine the 330 would close a lot of the gap towards an M3. I wonder how that's going to be dealt with.

: i hope to get the excel file that this came from soon...i highly modified the email i got to make it fit on the page

: NOTE: "specs due from marketing" is most likely when the DEALER gets the info and not us (the consumer)

: NOTE: as of now these are RUMORS, if you told your dealer this most likely 1) they would deny it (they wanty to sell you a car now) or 2) they wouldn't know about it

: my observations:
: 1. MY2000 production begins in APRIL on all Z3s except the M cars (this correlates VERY well with the fact that i heard artic silver production ends in April and titanium silver starts then)- 5 series in June, 7 series in March (BMW getting an early jump on having 2000s in the showroom??- smart marketing IMO)
: 2. 2.8 and 3.2 (M) production in the Z3 roadster and coupe and also on the E46 (but not on the E39) ends in June and July of 2000- might we being seeing the 3.0L and 3.4L replacements soon after??? i think so
: 3. new models- starting production in September is the M5 and E53 (SAV); in December the E46 convertible and the Z8 (also BMW is adding the protection models to the 7 series)
: 4. no info on the E46 M3 :(

: Bruce
: 98 M roadster
: 01 E46 M3 (no specs- well except that is will be 3.4L and about 350hp)
