was confused when he slammed the E46 323i and said the '99 328i was perfect and should be the only entry level bimmer.
I think he got the E36 323is he tested (and hated) in August confused with the E46 323i (which he never tested). I think he was slamming the E46 323i purely based on his experience with the E36. I base this on the fact that most of what he praises about the 328i is also applicable to the '99 323i. The E46 323i has tilt steering, the exact same seats and rear seat room, same leather, interior treatment and exterior (basically). I just don't understand how he can say the $33.4K 328i is a true BMW (according to him "a better reason for spending a BMW buck"), but the 323i is an overpriced, inferior to an Accord and has VW appeal at $7K less. Why do I care?? Because he was right back in '93 when he slammed the newly, redesigned Saab 900 (a piece of sh*t car I should never have bought).
