: That'd be part of the inspection list. Amazingly, my BMW's instrument panel lights did not work that evening (I test drove it during the day). Later I took it back and they undid the dashboard to reconnect a loose connection. I guess the point being that you've got to be your own quality control expert when going in to buy a car, even if it's a BMW.

Options (to add with the base model 328i w/CD player).

  • HK sound system
  • and 17" inch rims (16" looks small in those wheel wells)

    • Pre-purchase test drive checklist.

  • all the lights including instrument panel
  • Shimmy and steering wheel alignment
  • Bumper fit to body (those loose clips) any gaps?
  • Listening for the boinng boing or rattling sounds in the cabin

    • After purchase.

  • See that the tech puts on the license plates correctly (mine gouged through the paint when screwing in the plates)
