Why take an engine with only 1K to 1.5K to redline? All your torque is around 4Kr.p.m. anyway so what's the sense.

Certainly not at 1K, but how soon? I'm not is a rush to redline. On the other hand, I have read that one can damage (or at least limit the future potential of) an engine by being too gentle during break-in and immediately after. Things need to get used to being run moderately hard.

2. torque=acceleration only in a fixed gear. Acceleration will be much stronger in second than in third at 45-55 mph, even though in third you will be closer to the engine torque peak. High rpm is a kick.

tnx - BDA
