To FS or anyone persuaded by the "new improved 99.5 A4":

I thought we all bought our BMW's based on many factors, with cost of vehicle being one of many many virtues before we decided to get our bimmers. Other BMW pluses being road feel, engineering, resale, pride, sportiness, beauty, and at last, some degree, status.

If Audi does not increase their 99.5 A4 prices, it really should have no bearing on the A4 vs. E46 decision, at least for me. I myself, am waiting for an E46 M3 like Bruce. If you are persuaded by the bargain A4, by all means, please go buy one and join the A4.org forum as well. Plenty of unhappy A4 owners there too who regret buying the A4 and wished they bought a BMW instead. A major reason being horrible dealers who do not give a hoot after you picked up your A4 from their lot. If you don't believe me, read their posts sometime. Some really cool nightmare stories.

No offense Felipe, but the few hundred bucks you may save getting an 99.5 A4 is not going to give you a necessarily a better vehicle.

My additional $0.02.
