: 1st news: BMW is working on a smaller SUV, called the X3, based on the BMW E46 touring wagon. It says it has lines similar to those of the Subaru Legacy Outback. Release date is in 2 years or so.
that we have known for awhile....BMW wants to bring back the iX cuz sports wagons are hot (maybe replace those damn SUVs?)
: 2nd News: The X3 will have a new engine: a 3.0L straight sex producing 201 HP's. I am not betting the ranch on this (actually, I will!), but this will be the official specs for the upcoming 330Ci and 330i due in year 2001 which will replace the 328i and 328Ci with the more powerful engine.
that was in the roundel last fall i think...plus it was in autoweek about a month ago...will be closer to 210-220hp....remember the 95 M3? 3L 240hp, coincidence? i doubt it
: 3rd News: "The second proposal based on the 3-series is known as the K2. Derived from the two-door coupe and will feature an innovative roof that turns the hardtop four-seater into a two-seat pick-up. The end result is quite a striking lifestyle vehicle vaguely reminiscent of the quasi-cult cars like the Chevy El Camino and Ford Ranchero."
