How can a plastic key conduct electricity to re-program the code?

The electricity from the chip to the receiver in the car is not transmitted via the metal key. It is an electromagnatic system; therefore, the receiver will sense it once the key is placed in the ignition. Why are you so concerned about the plastic key? You can look at the key and tell there is some type of chip imbedded in the plastic. I don't know what else to say about this subject, I think we have beat it to death.
