In Reply to: It's a myth that the A4 1.8T is cheaper. It's not. posted by Kamal on February 16, 1999 at 14:42:31:

The 323i is cheaper in real terms because there is the Corporate Rebate, more competition among BMW dealers because there are more BMW dealers, longer warranty, and more safety equipment. There is no way a comparably equiped 1.8T can be lower than my 323i out-the-door price. And I get a inline 6 engine I don't have to chip for adequate performance (Add another $600 to 1.8T price). Factor in resale and reliability and it's not even close.

: : I test drove a 323 sedan with the sports package and think BMW has made their new line too refined. Even with the sports suspension the car is still not able to handle fast turns like my 95 Ford Probe(shame on you BMW). I think Audi's A4 is a better bet and at a cheaper price as well.
